William Sutton

William Douglas Sutton was born on February 12, 1937 in Fort Worth, Texas to William Douglas and Nellye Sutton. He moved to Los Angeles, CA in 1940. He attended the Seventh-Day Adventist school in Compton, CA for the first six years of his life. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1954.

At the age of 17 he joined the Air Force during the Korean War and became a radar technician. After an honorable discharge, he attended LACC and Cal State LA. He took ministerial courses at Pacific Union College. He then met the love of his life and married Betty J. Kirkland on March 17, 1962. They welcomed their first child, a son named William Douglas Sutton, III on March 2, 1964. He was then followed by their second child, a daughter named Stephney Ann Sutton on July 13, 1965.
William worked as a Literature Evangelist for the Seventh-Day Adventist church for many, many years. He loved going to the various churches and any other place where he could talk about and spread the word of God.

William Douglas Sutton departed this life on January 12, 2016 and is sleeping in the Lord waiting for the 2nd advent. Although our hearts are sad, we rejoice in the life William shared with all of us and his legacy which we will carry forward. He is survived by his beloved wife Betty, his son William Douglas, III, his daughter Stephney Ann, his grandson William Douglas, IV, his sister Patricia Woods, four other siblings, and host of nieces and nephews.
