After 89 years of a long full life, William (Bill) Voge passed away peacefully at his home in Leona Valley on June 19, 2021, surrounded by loved ones. Funeral services will be held on July 7, 2021, 10:00AM, at St. Junipero Serra Parish in Lancaster, California. The funeral will be preceded by a rosary at 9:30AM.
Bill Voge is the youngest son of Ernest and Caroline Voge, born on May 23, 1932, at Los Angeles County General Hospital. He grew up in Culver City, California, and graduated from St Augustine Grade School and Hamilton High School. Bill Voge then served in the US Marine Corp during the Korean War.
Bill Voge loved family life. He was married to his wonderful wife, June (Lutes) Voge for 42 years and had four children with June: Andrew Voge, Michael Voge, Martha (Voge) Collins, and Lucy Voge. Bill was active in his children and grandchildren’s lives. He loved sports and coached his boys in Little League for many years. As Grandpa, Bill will be fondly remembered reading "Three Billy Goats Gruff," in addition to teaching English, math, science, and -most importantly- right from wrong. Bill Voge loved sports, camping, talking about the “old days,” watching old movies, listening to old county music, and always had his beloved dogs and cats around him. After June Voge's untimely death, Bill Voge married again to another loving woman, Patricia (Mooneyham) Voge, and enjoyed 6 years together with her before Patricia passed away.
Bill Voge also enjoyed working for Los Angeles County where he had a long career as a licensed land surveyor, retiring at the level of a Department Head for Surveying and Mapping. He thought highly of the people he worked with and continued to see his fellow working buddies long after retirement.
Bill Voge was an active member in the Catholic faith. He served as a lector at St. Elizabeth Mission for many years, and was a member of St. Serra Parish. Bill will be laid to rest with his first wife, June Voge, at Good Shepherd Cemetery, Lancaster, California.
Bill Voge is survived by his son, Michael Voge; daughters, Martha (Voge) Collins and Lucy Voge; grandchildren, Nicholas Collins,
Laura Collins, Melissa Voge, William Voge, Samuel Voge, and Joseph Voge; great-grandchildren, Beatrix Bauer, Brixton Bauer, and Delilah Debney.
Bill Voge is preceded in death by his wives: June (Lutes) Voge and Patricia (Mooneyham) Voge; son, Andrew Voge; and grandson, Alexander Collins.
Bill Voge will be greatly missed and he will always be remembered as our beloved brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, friend, and surveyor.
